We are great listeners and believe that the best solution is always derived from a thorough understanding of our clients and their problems. This allows us to rapidly develop an understanding of the nature of how a client’s business operates and provide the best advice and financial products.

With the number of financial institutions and products so vast, it can be a confusing landscape for people to navigate. Our success in successfully guiding our clients comes from us knowing or learning about their industry and business. It cannot be a one product fits all approach. We know that this is a major factor in why our clients trust us and continue to recommend mmf to their friends, family and business associates.

Our team at MMF is proactive. We like to establish a team arrangement with our clients’ accountants, solicitors and any other parties involved in a project to ensure that all bases are covered and there is transparency around our client goals.

This approach is vital to us when working with clients so that they can feel safe and trust us. The learning curve for clients can often be a steep one and it is our goal to make it as seamless as possible, free from stress and difficulty.

Our purpose is to provide support to individuals and businesses to achieve their financial goals, with sound advice and honest appraisal of the available options, and to go to bat for them as hard as we can when the time arises.

Brett McMurrick - Principal

Brett has a very diverse background of business management with great success in the banking space. He pertains extensive experience particularly in finance & lending having held consultant and managerial roles with major organisations including Aussie Home Loans. Added to all of this is success in sales management and business development in e-commerce and the telecommunications industry with companies such as Newscorp- Foxtel JV with Telstra, BCA (Business Computers of Australia) and Salesforce Australia, where Brett was responsible for setting up an operating division in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Brett co-founded MMF Finance & Consulting in 1999 as he noticed a niche & opportunity in the banking deregulation looking at the residential & commercial mortgage space whereby intermediaries / brokers were able to originate lending on behalf of clients however the difference was the philosophy of the “client-centric business offering ” being the fiduciary duty of care for the clients best interests, which the banks and lenders has no similar offering .

Since 1999 mmf has seen significant growth and now has a diverse range of clientele coming from all walks of life, diverse range of product offerings ranging from residential & commercial mortgages to asset & equipment finance & has formed strong commercial alliances with likeminded businesses and individuals such as financial planning firms, accounting practices, & legal firms all to enhance the mmf client-centric offering.

Brett is a certified mortgage consultant and also holds other qualifications.

Brett is also a Full Voting Member with the MFAA and has been so for over 15+ years.

Kaleen McMurrick - Operations

Kaleen first started with MMF in 2007 and her main functions within MMF is Operations and Client Service Management, on top of this Kaleen runs the compliance piece that is managed through our CRM which allows MMF and its brokers to populate client applications seamlessly through our third party CRM Platform Salestrekker. Kaleen’s work in compliance allows MMF to operate successfully within the legal confines of the NCCP, MFAA and other related parties.

Alabama McMurrick - Creative & Marketing Director

Our head of creative and marketing, Alabama brings to the team a diverse skill set which has been consolidated throughout her studies and experience within both agency and inhouse roles. Currently residing in France, Alabama brings invaluable experience which offers out-of-the-box solutions when developing strategy to meet client objectives.

With a Bachelor of Communications from RMIT University, Alabama has undertaken further studies in Digital Marketing to equip herself with the essential knowledge of building a strong online brand presence and takes a keen interest in watching this space evolve.

Jordan Andrews - Head of Credit
Jordan moved from mechanical engineering into finance in 2007 which was when he joined mmf. Since then Jordan has built a diverse client base & has formed strong relationships with the existing mmf clientele.

Jordan now operates as mmf’s Senior financial consultant/senior credit analyst and also heads up the Asset & Equipment Finance division of mmf. Jordan believes that his prior tenure and experience in the automotive engineering space was an ideal foundation for his vast knowledge and success in the Asset & Equipment Finance space.

Jordan has obtained a Certificate IV in financial services, Diploma in mortgage management and holds a full MFAA membership.

Nick Hudson - Credit Advisor & Operations Manager

Nick is the most recent member of the MMF team making a career change into finance in 2021 he holds a Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking.

He brings a combination of 18 years hands on experience within agribusiness management and logistics and more recently 8 years service within the public sector as a frontline police officer.

Nick now brings his attributes to the finance sector utilising his personal skillset and client focussed approach to provide operational support.

Sarah Lang - Senior Credit Advisor

Sarah has over 17 years’ experience in Banking and Finance. She holds a Bachelor of Business (Management & Marketing) from Swinburne University in Melbourne & Diploma of Finance & Mortgage Broking Management. Sarah previously led a team of 16 regional commercial and agribusiness Relationship Managers for ANZ in WA South to deliver holistic banking solutions and insights to Customers. This portfolio included $750M in funds under management for Customers in a variety of industries with turnover $1M to $100M. Sarah specialises in Agricultural and commercial finance and also assists Clients with their personal home and investment loans. Sarah holds a full MFAA membership.

Gerard Loarson - Group IT Manager

Gerard is the Group IT Manager has 16+ years in the industry, he has coordinated Australia-wide roll outs of hardware and software solutions in the medical field. Data privacy and security have been an integral part of this role and is paramount to today’s IT requirements. Gerard has an immense background in Cybersecurity and networking, dealing with sensitive databases and following strict protocols to meet industry standards. Gerard has developed and maintained relationships with some of the largest networking and security vendors in Australia, keeping up to date on today’s data and security risks is where Gerard’s passion lies.

He is a Certified Financial Planner, has a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Financial Planning), as well as being a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
