We are great listeners and believe that the best solution is always derived from a thorough understanding of our clients and their problems. This allows us to rapidly develop an understanding of the nature of how a client’s business operates and provide the best advice and financial products.
With the number of financial institutions and products so vast, it can be a confusing landscape for people to navigate. Our success in successfully guiding our clients comes from us knowing or learning about their industry and business. It cannot be a one product fits all approach. We know that this is a major factor in why our clients trust us and continue to recommend mmf to their friends, family and business associates.
Our team at mmf is proactive. We like to establish a team arrangement with our clients’ accountants, solicitors and any other parties involved in a project to ensure that all bases are covered and there is transparency around our client goals.
This approach is vital to us when working with clients so that they can feel safe and trust us. The learning curve for clients can often be a steep one and it is our goal to make it as seamless as possible, free from stress and difficulty.
Our purpose is to provide support to individuals and businesses to achieve their financial goals, with sound advice and honest appraisal of the available options, and to go to bat for them as hard as we can when the time arises.
Brett McMurrick - Principal
Brett has a very diverse background of business management with great success in the banking space. He pertains extensive experience particularly in finance & lending having held consultant and managerial roles with major organisations including Aussie Home Loans. Added to all of this is success in sales management and business development in e-commerce and the telecommunications industry with companies such as Newscorp- Foxtel JV with Telstra, BCA (Business Computers of Australia) and Salesforce Australia, where Brett was responsible for setting up an operating division in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Brett co-founded mmf Finance & Consulting in the 1999 as he noticed a niche & opportunity in the banking deregulation looking at the residential & commercial mortgage space whereby intermediaries / brokers were able to originate lending on behalf of clients however the difference was the philosophy of the “client-centric business offering ” being the fiduciary duty of care for the clients best interests, which the banks and lenders has no similar offering .
Since 1999 mmf has seen significant growth and now has a diverse range of clientele coming from all walks of life, diverse range of product offerings ranging from residential & commercial mortgages to asset & equipment finance & has formed strong commercial alliances with likeminded businesses and individuals such as financial planning firms, accounting practices, & legal firms all to enhance the mmf client-centric offering.
Brett is a certified mortgage consultant and also holds other qualifications.
Brett is also a Full Voting Member with the MFAA and has been so for over 15+ years.
Malcolm Stewart - Group CEO
Malcolm Stewart is a Sales Management Entrepreneur, based in Australia and South East Asia, who has trained and managed Salesforces of five to more than 1,000 ! His skills and management processes stem from his initial training as an engineer. The discipline he acquired during his naval service, as well as his authenticity, allow him to quickly connect with audiences. He has spent over 35 years helping Salesforces achieve massive sales; this is the hallmark of his professional DNA!
Malcolm is a British and Australian citizen with an MBA from RMIT. He has lived and worked in Australia, the USA, the UK, the Middle East, West Africa, Hong Kong, Japan, and Thailand. These experiences have helped him quickly and authentically connect and adapt to various corporate and national cultures.
Malcolm believes that Culture, Efficacy, Measurable Processes, and Authenticity form the baseline for achieving greatness in both a salesperson and a Salesforce!
Malcolm’s passions are his kids, Japanese food, and languages. He is also a fan of both North Melbourne and Manchester United!
Jordan Andrews - Head of Credit
Jordan moved from mechanical engineering into finance in 2007 which was when he joined mmf. Since then Jordan has built a diverse client base & has formed strong relationships with the existing mmf clientele.
Jordan now operates as mmf’s Senior financial consultant/senior credit analyst and also heads up the Asset & Equipment Finance division of mmf. Jordan believes that his prior tenure and experience in the automotive engineering space was an ideal foundation for his vast knowledge and success in the Asset & Equipment Finance space.
Jordan has obtained a Certificate IV in financial services, Diploma in mortgage management and holds a full MFAA membership.
Alex McLeod - Loan Consultant / CSM
Alex joined the MMF team in July of 2018, and assists Jordan and Chris in liaising with clients, data entry, and maintaining compliance. Alex has completed a Certificate IV in Financial Services & Mortgage Broking.
Alex also studies at Monash University, and keeps himself busy competing at a state level in basketball, and doing his best to support the Melbourne Football Club.
Nick Lane - CSM
Nick joined the team early in June 2018, currently completing an undergraduate in business and finance, sourcing his skills from this region he’s confident in the transition to mortgage broking under the mentorship of Brett as he continues to build and reinforce his repertoire of skills.
Under the tutelage of Brett, Nick is undertaking a certificate IV in Financial Services and Mortgage broking and hopes to draw from his colleagues to master his profession.
Kaleen Christie - Operations
Kaleen first started with mmf in 2007. Kaleen’s main role is in client service management, on top of this she is an integral part of the compliance piece that she manages through CRM which allows our brokers to populate client files in our third party platform Podium.
Her work in compliance allows the company to flow successfully within the legal confines of the MFAA and assists in the ease at which our brokers can write deals.

Tom McMurrick - Loan Consultant / CSM
Tom has assisted in creating the MMF digital platform and the updates to the MMF digital presence such as Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. Tom also studies at Monash university majoring in banking & finance and Chinese which enables him to bring the latest in academic understanding to the MMF team.
Tom has completed his certificate 4 of Mortgage Broking and Finance, has membership of the MFAA and can provide a range of services for clients.

Adam Wilson has the vision of providing exceptional client services to small and medium sized businesses and achieving their personal life goals. His focus is on understanding and utilising the latest accounting technology to offer his clients the tools and systems required to simplify and successfully run their businesses whilst also saving them time and money.
Managing Partner / Financial Planner
Steven has been with Income Solutions since 2006, and now heads up the team in Richmond as Managing Partner and Senior Financial Planner. He is a Certified Financial Planner, has a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Financial Planning), as well as being a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
